1. Enjoy beer, beats and bites

If you’re running out of ideas for a chill weekend hangout, head to Stärker Music Zhongshan Park. Best known for its in-house German-style brewed Stärker Fresh Beer and bistro fare like chili crab sliders, the gastropub is also a platform for local emerging talents.

2. Order an Angry Birds burger

In light of the upcoming Angry Bird’s movie, McDonald’s has launched the Super Red burger (from $6.10), inspired by the leader of the flock.

Flaming-red buns sandwich a flavourful combination of smoky chicken patty, juicy sliced tomato and a tender egg, topped with a fiery pepper mayo sauce.

Available in stores and via McDelivery from 19 May onwards, while stocks last.

3. Have a taste of New Zealand

From May 23-29, Cold Storage will be presenting its Taste New Zealand event at Plaza Singapura Atrium, where shoppers can look forward to quality New Zealand meat and cheese, healthy snacks and refreshing ciders.

For the first time, visitors will be treated to a virtual reality experience, where they can journey across the country’s famous farms and vineyards.

7. See America’s top comedian perform live

One of America’s most successful stand-up comedians, Gabriel Iglesias AKA Fluffy is bringing his live show Gabriel Iglesias #Fluffy Breaks Even to Singapore.

The live set will be based on “#Fluffy Breaks Even” a non-scripted comedic docu-series where Fluffy and gang eat on the road, add up the calories and then try to burn it off and “break even” with a different extreme workout.

8. Catch an award-winning musical phenomenon

Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new production the legendary musical Les Misérables has opened at Esplanade Theatre.

One of the world’s greatest musicals, this new production of the much-loved blockbuster features glorious modernised staging, orchestrations and dazzlingly reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo.

9. Join a festival by the bay

10. Celebrate Zouk’s Silver Jubilee

Zouk, the birthplace of electronic music in Singapore and Asia, celebrates her silver jubilee with a special anniversary party on May 28.
