Giving is truly better than receiving

As we revel in the festive cheer around the city, let’s not forget the true spirit of Christmas – giving and sharing, and not just to our immediate family and friends, but also those in need in our community. Back for its third year, Giving Week has lots of fun festivals and activities lined up from 27 November to 5 December, to encourage Singaporeans to embrace the spirit of giving. Look out for our iconic buildings, such as the Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel, and The National Stadium, lighting up in red for this nation-wide movement this year! We’ve rounded up 5 awesome activities you and your loved ones can join to have fun while giving back.

1. Get active with the whole family

Playing is all about giving, too, at the Singapore Sports Hub’s Community Play Day this weekend, on 1 and 2 December. Bring the whole family along to play carnival rides and games, get hands-on at craft workshops, get moving at sports and charity runs, and chill out to film screenings. Free for all to enter, the two-day festival will have lots of corporate partners present to support beneficiaries like the Make a Wish Foundation. Looking to add some new pieces to your wardrobe? Stop by Zalora’s clothes donation drive at the event, in collaboration with Giving Week. The Play Day begins early at 9am each day, but be sure to stay till evening to catch the ChariTrees light up the Stadium Riverside Walk in amazing festive colours!
