It's almost impossible to tear your eyes away from these mesmerising GIFs of art

The trio is part of other original GIFs that are showcased at the Noise x GIF Fest 2017, taking place at Gillman Barracks from 5 to 11 October.

Revolving around the theme 'Spellbound', the inaugural festival was prefaced with an open call for submissions to the subject 'Illusions' held in August. The response saw a total of 500 submitted works from both amateurs and professionals alike, which were then withered down to 50 GIFsto be placed alongside commissioned works done by some 20 notable artists.

A month has since passed, and the much-anticipated curation of animated images is finally ready for viewing in all of its disarraying, enthralling and kaleidoscopic glory.

The canvases, of which the moving images are projected on, also contribute to the immersive experience of the colourful exhibition. From a mammoth LED wall to small display devices dangling over sculptural trees, over 100 screens featuring the various GIFs are peppered all over the Gillman Barracks space for your viewing pleasure.

More than just a brilliant art showcase, the multi-media exhibition will also feature a flurry of fringe activities including workshops, live performances, creative dialogue sessions and more. Some highlights include a cinemagraph-making masterclass ($5 per pax on 7 October, 4pm-5pm) by Singaporean street photographer Aik Beng Chia, a musical performance by indie-electronica duo .gif  on the Good Times edition happening on 5 October, and even a free kids GIF making workshop(8 October)!

Are you dizzy with excitement yet? We checked out the GIF Fest for ourselves and here are some of its highlights in GIFs, no less.
