8 Exciting New Spaces In Singapore To Say Hello To This Year

Start the new year on a happy note by looking forward to these new developments in town

2016 left us with tearful goodbyes to many local childhood spaces and estates, such as the Fish & Co Glasshouse, Rochor Centre and Dakota Crescent.

But it’s a new year, a new day and a new life for these other places in Singapore, which are either getting a rejuvenated makeover or seeing entirely new facilities opening up.

1. Our Tampines Hub

An integrated community and lifestyle hub, Our Tampines Hub (OTH) is located at the former Tampines Stadium and Tampines Sports Hall. The area will spring up a variety of sports facilities, a brand-new regional library, community club and arts programmes and facilities, a hawker centre, retail shops and more.

Phase 1 was recently launched in November 2016, when a wide range of retail outlets and services were opened, including the Public Service Centre, Festive Mall, Hawker Centre, and Community Auditorium. The HomeTeamNS Clubhouse and Eastern Health Community Health Centre are also already open. Phases 2 and 3 are slated for completion by mid-2017.

OTH was conceptualised with input from 15,000 Tampines residents.

Follow the OTH Facebook page for more updates.
