You know what they say:  The city truly comes alive after dark!

So witness it for yourself at the 11th edition of Singapore Night Festival, happening from 17 to 25 August at the Bras Basah-Bugis precinct.

It goes without saying that lights are the heart of the Night Festival. But this year, visitors can not only snap some Insta-worthy shots with 16 light installations, but also interact with many of them. Besides the visual treats, the revelry continues with 27 live performances from a diverse array of arts disciplines. Local artists take the spotlight for this boost in creativity, making the festival a great way to celebrate local arts and culture.

With a programme so packed, we’ve picked out seven highlights you won’t want to miss:

1. Ember Rain

Local collective Starlight Alchemy invites you to pedal on a bicycle and watch a shower of sparkling embers pour down from a five-metre tall fire tower! As a symbol of how humans drive innovation, the artwork ignites only with the audience’s participation. Not only is it creative, it’s also stunning to behold: the interactive sculpture takes the shape of a pagoda tower, complete with lotus-shaped petals that will make the fiery waterfall an astounding sight of purity and beauty.

Where: Cathay Green
When: 17 – 25 August 2018 | 7.30pm – 12.00am
