5 Unique Things To Do In Kampong Glam

Party, shop, eat, and more at historic neighbourhood

As Singapore's Malay heritage enclave, Kampong Glam is a wonderful place to get to know our nation's Malay roots and culture. Its historical significance does not make the district old or merely a destination for school learning journeys. Thanks to conservation efforts, many hip new attractions and events have popped up alongside the ornate mosques, textile shops and traditional architecture. This mix of old and new makes Kampong Glam a lively place to spend your day or evening with your loved ones.

Here are some of our favourite events and activities to do at Kampong Glam...

3. Unwind to good food and drinks at Blu Jaz Cafe

A vibrantly designed bohemian-style bar and cafe, the Blu Jaz Cafe is always a happening place to be. After a long day of walking and shopping around Kampong Glam, kick back for a delicious meal with your family and friends. While the place has been popular for its regular live music and comedy events, Blu Jaz’s public entertainment license was recently cancelled. Nevertheless, the cafe continues to run and treat diners to an affordable menu of cocktails and bar bites, comfort food, local favourites, and Middle Eastern fare.

Kampong Glam also abounds with yummy Middle Eastern, Malay and Indonesian eateries. In addition to Blu Jaz, Bali Lane has many unique fusion options to explore, while Kandahar Street will also delight foodies.
