3. Syonan Jinja

Located along Sime Road, hidden in the jungle surrounding MacRitchie Reservoir, are the ruins of Syonan Jinja. This is a forgotten Japanese Shinto shrine that commemorated the Japanese soldiers who died in Singapore in WWII. It was the location of many religious and cultural ceremonies until it was destroyed when the Japanese Occupation ended.
