3. Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival

As part of its annual Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the Sun Yat-Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) will be presenting a special outdoor lantern installation created in collaboration with Thailand artist Boonyavee Boonsakda (Ngaew Ngaew)!

Titled Those Moonlit Moments…, the outdoor installation features four large lantern replicas, including the artist’s characters enjoying mooncakes and each other’s company under the gentle and watchful eye of Ngaew’s Moon Rabbit. The Moon Rabbit character was created especially for the Mid-Autumn Festival and is inspired by the Jade Rabbit from Chinese folklore – a mythical character that keeps the goddess Chang’e company on the moon.

The installation will be open to the public from 31 August to 26 September.
