Calling all foodies! Gather round and place your bets.
The Michelin Guide Singapore announced today that they will be giving away Business Class return flight to New York or Tokyo and a meal for two at a selected 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in either city. There are also 21 other prizes to be won. This is on top of the generous giveaway of a meal at Sukiyabashi Jiro.
All you have to do is make your prediction of which restaurant in Singapore you think will be awarded Michelin stars in the upcoming Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 guidebook.
The person who gives the most accurate prediction stands a chance to win business class return flight tickets for two to Nw York City. There, they will be treated to a three Michelin-starred meal and a bottle of wine with a Robert Parker Wine Advocate 100-point rating.
The first prize winner will also win dinners for two at all of the 2-starred and 3-starred Singapore restaurants listed in the Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 guidebook among other goodies.
For the other prizes and how you can join the contest, head over to the Michelin Guide Singapore’s website.
According to Michelin, the star system works in this way: A one-star restaurant is a very good restaurant you should try if you’re in the area, a two-star restaurant is an excellent restaurant that is worth a detour and a three-star restaurant is an exceptional restaurant that is worth the journey on its own, like a food pilgrimage.
With this guideline in mind, think about the top restaurants (and even hawkers) that people might travel to Singapore to try to come up with the number of stars you think Singapore might be awarded. It might also be good to have a look at Michelin guides for other countries and see how many stars were given to countries similar in size to Singapore.
