People working in the Central Business District would know that there is a slew of sandwich and salad joints lining the streets at Raffles Place but what about having a glass of wine with your sandwich for lunch?

PLT’s signature sandwich: Pancetta, Lettuce and Tomato

PLT – standing for Pancetta, Lettuce and Tomato – is a play on the BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich. PLT is the brainchild of Cedele, which is known for healthy and hearty portions that do not compromise on quality.

Located on Robinson Road, the airy sandwich bar offers breakfast options such as the Ham & Cheese Croissant ($5) or Chocolate Hazelnut and Banana Toast ($5) that come with coffee, tea or juice. They also have Chicken Macaroni Soup ($5) should you prefer a comforting broth for breakfast. You can pick from three different types of bread: white olive, wholemeal and multi-grain rye.

We loved their Tuna Cheese Melt ($7) which turns the standard tuna salad sandwich into a bite filled with a slice of pineapple, pesto and cheese. The joint’s namesake, the PLT ($7.80) was a lighter version of the greasy BLT, accompanied with sweet mustard
and mayonnaise.

The Reuben ($8.50) – corned beef, bacon, sauerkraut onion, cheddar and gherkins covered in a tangy Russian dressing – is great if you’re not keen on too many greens in your sandwich.

There are also vegetarian options available such as the Shroom Tofu Burger ($7.80) with a grilled tofu patty, mushrooms, pepperonata, Bavarian mustard and mayonnaise. Who says that only eating vegetables won’t fill you up?

Happy Hour at the PLT starts from 5pm, when a glass of wine costs you a mere $5. Ask the helpful staff at the counter about which type of wine goes well with your sandwich.

PLT also sells salads, which change on alternate days. Soups, such as their Rustic Mushroom, are available as an add-on to your sandwich as well.

PLT is located at 39 Robinson Road, #01-01A, Singapore 068911. Tel: 6438 2648
