Whiskies, spirits, cocktails… oh my!

La Maison du Whisky boasts the most extensive portfolio of whiskies and spirits in Singapore, and has introduced all-new discovery, tasting, and retail concept – the La Maison du Whisky Tasting Experience – at its flagship whisky boutique.

Even if you’re versed with whiskies, you’ll find yourself discovering new labels, even as you indulge in the art of appreciating a good single malt – the boutique has over 800 bottles available for an open tasting! With their team of trained specialists, you’ll be in good hands too.

Sample a wide repertoire of tipples, including some of the world’s most exquisite and award-winning whiskies and fine spirits – including Old Pulteney 1983, Kavalan Vinho Barrique, Linkwood 15Y, and more.

Don’t worry if you’re new to whiskies, either! Just let the team at the bar know what you usually drink, and they’ll recommend selections for you according to your favoured flavour profile. Personally, we favour more fruity, light alcohols; and are more of wine-drinkers than whisky-sippers. Head of bar Jonathan recommended the Glen Keith 1997 20 Year Old Signatory, The Ten #8 Single Malt Heavy Sherry, as well as the Ledaig 2010 Artist Collective Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Sipping them in order from left to right, it was an amazing sensory journey: from bright, fruity notes with a hint of vanilla from the Glen Keith, to delightful burnished caramel smoothness of The Ten Heavy Sherry, to the liquorice-like peatiness of the Ledaig Single Malt.

Besides that, we also had the chance to try the Hampden Estate Pure Single Jamaican Rum. A good rum doesn’t need to be watered down by mixers – and the Hampden Estate rum really did cement our view on this. Smooth, rich and tasting of the tropics, with notes of pineapple, banana and spices; a sip of this made us feel like we were swaying in a hammock by the Caribbean seaside! Goodbye rum & Coke – you’ll (not) be missed!

General Manager Mathieu Musnier also recommended us the Chase English Potato Vodka, which we had in a classic vodka soda – refreshing, light and topped with lime!

With such a vast selection, and opportunities to have your picks of alcohol turned into delightful tipples, La Maison du Whisky is an essential stop for every whisky and spirits lover, whether or not you’re new or experienced with them!
