A homegrown pastry chef will join the world’s best at the 2016 Margaret River Gourmet Escape

One of Western Australia’s biggest culinary events, the Margaret River Gourmet Escape, has this year brought in a pastry chef from Singapore.
Chef Janice Wong from 2am: dessertbar joins the stellar line-up of celebrity chefs, wine and food personalities, including top UK TV cook and food writer, Nigella Lawson. Wong and Lawson will be joined by a selection of chefs from the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, such as Joan Roca (#2 El Celler de Can Roca, Spain), Mauro Colagreco (#6 Mirazur, France) and Andoni Luis Aduriz (#7 Mugaritz, Spain).
The Audi Gourmet Beach BBQ returns to the Margaret River Gourmet Escape this year.
Chef Wong will appear in events and chef collaborations during the festival, which will be held from 18-20 Nov. The itinerary includes events like the Audi Gourmet Beach BBQs, a Feast in the Forest, Cape Mentelle International Cabernet Tasting and Long Lunch; Augusta Seafood Discovery Lunch and Brunch with the Best.
A visit to the festival is not complete without a walk around the Gourmet Village, which comes alive with cooking demonstrations, hands on master-classes, thought-provoking food and wine conversations, live music and book signings.
