Here, you'll find possibly the best Norwegian coldwater seafood in Singapore

Housed within a stand-alone egg-shaped glass pod with floor-to-ceiling windows, FiSK's Scandinavian-inspired decor is palpable from the second you step into the place. Although it's named Seafoodbar, there's no doubt it's so much more than just a bar — it's a restaurant through and through. Here are some of our favourite dishes at this gem of a restaurant born out of Norwegian pride and Viking spirit.

Open-Face Smørrebrød Sandwich With Smoked Mackerel, $6 per piece

An amalgamation of two Danish words smør (butter) and brød (bread), Smørrebrød can be as simple as spreading butter on rye bread. FiSK sources its rye bread from a local artisanal bakery, and toppings (which varies daily depending on season and what’s available) include pickled herring, hard-boiled eggs, salmon tartar, trout roe, caviar, pickled onions, Norwegian mayonnaise, and many more. When we visited, we were treated to a smorgasbord of toppings including house-smoked Sichuan mackeral, lumpfish roe, and grated fresh horseradish which resulted in a burst of flavours in every mouth. Now who knew sandwiches could taste so good?
