Try your hand at Eight Treasures Rice, also known as 黄金八宝饭(huang jin ba bao fan).
Serves 2 people
- 4 pcs lupcheong (Chinese dried sausage) Sliced
- 30g dried oyster
- 120 g bak kwa (Barbecued jerky)
- ¼ cup pork floss
- 2 pcs dried shiitake mushroom
- 1 cup pumpkin
- 6 pcs red date
- 2 bunches bok choy
- 2 cups rice
- 2 cups water
- ½ tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp light soy sauce
- ½ tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil

Step 1 – Boil the rice, mushrooms, red dates and oyster
- Heat up 2 cups water in a claypot on low heat.When the water is warm, add rice into the claypot, along with the shiitake mushrooms, red dates and the dried oyster. Cover with the lid and leave to boil.
