Mocomichi Hayami

Japanese model-actor turn cooking show host Mocomichi Hayami has been dubbed the “Jamie Oliver of Japan” and it’s not hard to see why — he has no lack of affable charm or culinary prowess.

He first made his acting debut in 2002 with the drama You’re Under Arrest, before shooting to fame with his first lead role in the 2005 drama Gokusen 2.

Aside from acting, his keen interest in cooking also led him to pursue a career as a cooking show host on Moco’s Kitchen, where he shows off his expansive repertoire of easy-to-follow gourmet recipes.

1. Soak the gelatin powder in the water.

2. Heat up the heavy cream using low heat, switching off the fire just before the cream boils. Add the soaked gelatin powder from step (1) and dissolve it.

3. Add the cocoa and sugar in a bowl and beat in the egg until it is completely mixed in. Add and mix in the mixture from step (2) gradually. (If it is for adults, add the brandy.)

4. Split the batter from step (3) equally between the glasses, and let it cool and firm up in the refrigerator for about an hour.
