McDonald’s Introduces Newest Breakfast Offering The Red Rice Porridge

Available at all outlets islandwide starting tomorrow morning 5 April

The most important meal of the day, as we have often heard, is breakfast. But how many of us actually bother getting a proper breakfast before rushing to the office or school? McDonald’s making it that much more convenient to get a nutritional and affordable breakfast starting tomorrow (April 5).

The new Red Rice Porridge features 100% red rice, a wholegrain alternative known for its unique colour and nutty flavour, and is loaded with hearty ingredients including sweet potato, shiitake mushrooms, bean curd, corn, and goji berries.

According to Jaclyn Reutens, Dietitian, Aptima Nutrition & Sports Consultants, “red rice is high in antioxidants, and have at least 20% more zinc and iron compared to brown rice”, all of which are good for boosting the body’s immune system.

With no added MSG and less than 150 calories in each serving, the Red Rice Porridge which is suitable for both vegans and vegetarian also carries Singapore Health Promotion Board’s ‘Higher in Wholegrain and Lower in Calories’ Healthier Choice Symbol.

Considering how it’s MSG-free and such a healthy choice, the Red Rice Porridge is actually surprisingly flavourful and tasty. But don’t just take our word for it, try it for yourself and dissociate wholesome eating with bland, boring food for once and for all.

The Red Rice Porridge will be available starting tomorow (5 April) during breakfast hours at $3.40 for a-la carte orders. You can enjoy the wholesome porridge with Premium Roast Coffee or Tea from $4.30, or in a Breakfast Extra Value Meal from $5.80. How’s that for a healthy and affordable breakfast?
