1. Irvin’s Salted Egg Yolk Potato Chips

These crumbly, bright yellow chips ($15 a bottle) have invaded our social media feeds (and our hearts). We’ve been queuing for bottles of these addictive snacks, after hearing that they were in stock (finally!).

Trust us, getting your hands on one elusive bottle is no easy feat. Hint: Be sure to monitor their Instagram updates. Nonetheless, they are absolutely worth the while.

Freshly made without preservatives, each chip is crisp and evenly coated with gritty, savoury-sweet salted egg yolk powder, bearing the faint aroma of curry leaves. And as their tagline #dangerouslyaddictive suggests, you won’t be able to stop at one.

Order them here.

2. Golden Duck Gourmet Taiwanese Salted Egg Yolk Chips

A close second are these Gourmet Taiwanese Salted Egg Yolk Chips ($7) by Golden Duck, which claims to be Singapore’s #1 purveyor of premium gourmet salted egg snacks.

Hand-crafted using an original Taiwanese-inspired recipe, the chips are more sweet than savoury, with a flavour profile that hints of cereal butter prawns.

Moreish and crunchy, each piece was nicely covered by garish yellow salted egg yolk powder. However, as we worked our way through the bag, we found that most of its powdery coating had fallen off the chips.

Order them here.

4. Home Made Salted Egg Yolk Chips

If you enjoy cooking, why not try whipping up some salted egg yolk chips? All you need are a handful of curry leaves, four salted eggs yolks, one large packet of chips and 100g of butter.

5. Home Made Salted Egg Yolk Cookies

Put the salty-sweet flavours of salted egg yolk into a butter cookie and this is what you get. Make a batch for your loved ones and keep the rest for your mid-day (or late night) indulgence.
