Indulge your craving for Indian food with modern and quality dishes in a bountiful buffet spread at Melt – The World Cafe

The buffet at Melt in Mandarin Oriental hotel sets itself apart from the rest with its signature Indian food buffet spread.

Known for quality Indian food, Melt’s Chef Santosh Kumar adds to their usual buffet spread with a further array of traditional and signature Indian dishes, from Mar 6 to 15.

Rich & Delicious Curry

The Flavours of India ($68++ to $88++) buffet draws inspiration for its dishes from all over India but with a modern twist. The Tandoori Chicken Roulade, a juicy baked chicken leg stuffed with prawn saffron mousse was slightly spicy with an aromatic fragrance.

We also liked Lagen Ki Chop, a tender lamb chop cooked in a copper pot of rich cashew and saffron gravy. We are normally quite wary of lamb as it can be slightly gamey but this one had hardly any scent at all.

The Tandoori Jhinga featured succulent king prawns marinated in a blend of spices and carom seeds. The prawns had a great flavour to them with just enough seasoning that did not overwhelm the natural taste of the prawns.

More Indian Goodies

What is Indian food without a dish of biryani? Their Dhaba Chicken Biryani is a delectable combination of chicken, minted green chilli and curd, served with aromatic basmati rice. Not forgetting, the hearty Butter Chicken Masala.

There is also Lazeez Paneer, a vegetarian option of a cottage cheese roll stuffed with mixed vegetables. If you are peckish for naan bread, Melt does a great cheese naan, cheese and garlic naan as well as plain naan. These are great for soaking up the gravy as well.

Wash down your meal with a cup of masala milk tea for the full authentic Indian experience. Apart from Indian food, you can also help yourself to the array of seafood, sashimi and desserts available should you still be hankering for more.
