Marriott Cafe includes an Italian feast on top of their international buffet offerings till Apr 30

By Nicole-Marie Ng

When two Italian chefs meet, it’s natural for them to share and cook the best recipes from home.

Lucky for us, we can catch a taste of their authentic Italian treats at Marriott Cafe’s Italiano Paradiso Buffet.

Helmed by Chef de Cuisine, Daniele Trivero and Executive Sous Chef, Christian Frigo, Marriot Cafe has an impressive lineup on Italian dishes joining their buffet spread for the months of March and April.

Italian Homecooking

Marriott Cafe - Italiano Paradiso - Chef Christian & Daniele

Cooked fresh in their open kitchen daily, the Italian dishes offer a taste of Chef Trivero’s and Chef Frigo’s home.

The recipes are simple but deliver on taste.

Marriott Cafe - Italiano Paradiso - Agnello All Aceto Balsamico (Sautéed Lamb With Balsamic Vinegar)

One of my favourites is the Agnello All Aceto Balsamico, tender lamb cubes that have been marinated in balsamic vinegar overnight. The vinegar helps to reduce the gaminess of the meat and impart some sweetness to the dish.

Another must try is the Gnocchi Con Salsa Ai Peperoni E Caprino, homemade Gnocchi in Bell Pepper and Goat Cheese sauce. The Gnocchi was soft and supple, unlike other starchy variations I’ve tried before. The bell pepper sauce is made by first burning the skin of the bell pepper over the stove, giving the sauce a smoky aroma that is balanced with the creaminess of the cheese.

For more adventurous diners, don’t give the Sauteed Veal Tongue with Green Salsa a miss. It was my first time trying veal tongue and I absolutely loved it. The creamy texture and delicate taste will please fans of foie gras. The Chefs have also created an offal station showcasing the different ways Italians use leftover meat.

Save Room for Dessert (and more)

The buffet also features international favourites like fresh seafood on ice, succulent roasts from their carving station and local delights like Laksa.

To top it off, end your meal with a dazzling array of desserts like Sticky Date Pudding and Chocolate Cake.

Marriott Cafe also has an extensive Italian wine list with red, white and sparkling wines originating from various regions in Italy.
