Paradise Teochew brings classic Teochew dishes to a refined and modern setting

Following the success of the first Paradise Teochew outlet at the Chinese Swimming Club, Paradise Teochew at Scotts Square opened its doors on Jun 10.
Helmed by Executive Chef Cheng Fa Kwan who has been cooking Teochew cuisine for 34 years, each dish is expertly crafted to preserve authentic Chaozhou flavours.
Leveraging on Chef Cheng’s experience, Paradise Teochew at Scott’s Square has an expanded menu of over 100 dishes including a variety of dim sum dishes that are only available for lunch.
Elevating Teochew cuisine
While Teochew food is traditionally simple with dishes like steamed fish and braised duck being paired with rice, Paradise Teochew has refined the cuisine to suit the elegant ambience of the restaurant.
Start your meal with the Chilled Yellow Roe Crab ($9 per 100g). Premium crabs full of decadent roe are selected to be paired with two different types of sauces. The citrusy chilli sauce, in particular, goes well with the crab, enhancing its sweetness while toning down the richness of the roe.
If you’re lazy to peel the crab on your own, opt for the Teochew Crabmeat Roll ($22) instead. The appetiser is reminiscent of a ngoh hiang roll but is filled with chunks of crab meat instead. This dish is one of Chef Cheng’s modern interpretations on Teochew Cuisine.
Unlike Cantonese food which focuses on roasted meats, Teochew cuisine is known for their braised dishes. At Paradise Teochew, you can have a Braised Trio Combination ($26) that has three of their speciality braised meats served with a sauce made from 10 secret ingredients. Alternatively, we also recommend just getting the Braised Sliced Irish Fat Duck ($32 for half duck, $60 for whole duck) which was tender without any unpleasant gaminess.
To celebrate their grand opening, Paradise Teochew will be offering special prices for two of their signature dishes. The Chilled Yellow Crab Roe will be priced at $12 for 300g from now to Jul 3. Following that, the Braised Trio Combination in Teochew Style with Braised Sliced Duck, Braised Octopus and Braised Sliced Pork Belly will be sold at $8 from Jun 4 to Jul 17. This promotion is available for Paradise Gourmet Rewards members, Maybank and OCBC Credit and Debit Card holders only.
Alternatively, head down to Orchard Road this weekend to catch the Paradise Teochew mascot during lunch time and dinner time. All you have to do is upload a picture onto Instagram and present it at the restaurant to enjoy great deals.
