Visitors can look forward to family-friendly activities such as face and nail painting, hair braiding, balloon sculpting and more.

If St Patrick’s Day brings to mind leprechauns, shamrock leaves and all things green, think again — there’s a whole lot more!

This annual celebration actually has roots in Irish culture and Christianity. Nonetheless, a large part of the celebration is centred upon the feasting on traditional Irish food and drink.

With the annual St Patrick’s Day Street Parade taking place along the Singapore River from Mar 17 to 20, you can be a part of this colourful festival. Most importantly, here are four places to enjoy great St Patrick’s Day dining promotions.

Draft & Craft

Fish & Chips — certainly British — and the Irish staple of a pint of Guinness will help you to get in the mood for St Patrick’s Day.

Comfort your rumbling belly with the Shepherd’s Pie ($15), a favourite in Irish tradition. The classic homemade dish with mashed potatoes and succulent ground beef is best paired with a glass of Guinness Stout (at $22).

Southbridge

Pat’s Martini is a lovely creation of Irish Vodka and Melon Midori Liqueur.

Gather your loved ones and catch up over succulent Irish oysters ($36 for six) as well as glasses of Pat’s Martini ($27). The martini is a special cocktail creation of untamed Irish Vodka and Melon Midori Liqueur.

Molly Malone’s

Molly Malone’s Whiskey & Bacon Marmalade with Soda Bread ($8) is a traditional dish that’s a favourite among Irish regulars.

Molly Malone’s Whiskey & Bacon Marmalade with Soda Bread ($8) is a traditional dish that’s not just a favourite among Irish regulars but also the current Irish ambassador’s wife, according to St Patrick’s Day Street Festival, presented by Singapore River One, a partnership charged with the day-to-day manage-ment and marketing of the Singapore River enclave.

Try the Whiskey & Bacon Marmalade with Soda Bread for yourself and enjoy a 30ml glass of Jameson’s Irish Whisky
while you’re at it (together at $15++).

RedDot Brewhouse

The RedDot Monster Green Lager is infused with green spirulina.

What’s healthy but boozy and in a beautiful, deep shade of green? The RedDot Monster Green Lager, that’s what.

Infused with green spirulina, the low hop lager beer is packed with health benefits too. It will be on sale for just $11++ during happy hour, from 12pm to 8pm (thereafter, priced at $12.50++).

Apart from traditional Irish cuisine, visitors can also look forward to family-friendly activities such as face and
nail painting, hair braiding and balloon sculpting.

A key highlight of the festival will be a line-up of Irish-themed bands and performances by The Craic Horse, The Singapore Trad Collective and much more.
