You may have heard of The Spot and its affinity for Asian sauces. And for the National Day festivities, the restaurant is going local with culinary spoils that draw inspiration from hawker favourites. For food, there’s the “Orh Luak” Oyster Omelette ($9 per piece) featuring a  salt-baked French oyster, creamy scrambled eggs and a crisp made with pork lard and dried oyster, and White “Laksa” ($42) that combines Nyonya and assam laksas into one. Boston lobster, spiced coconut foam and a pineapple salsa are added to the noodle dish. It would be unwise to skip The Spot’s locally-inspired cocktails as well, namely the espresso-based Kopiko ($16)  blended with reduced dark beer, the bundung-inspired Gulamerah Sling ($16++) and whiskey-spiked soya bean and grass jelly combi of Mr. Bean ($16).
