She biked solo from Singapore to the Himalayas for charity

Last year, 28-year-old Vaune Phan embarked on a solo mission to raise funds for the Singapore Disability Sports Council. She rode eight hours a day through Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and China before finally reaching Tibet. The journey took one month to complete, earning Phan the title of the first and youngest female biker to ever complete this solo ride from Singapore to the Himalayas.

Phan began biking from the age of 18 and picked up Enduro dirt biking at 21, competing in various races. She currently rides a Suzuki DR200 and Ducati Hypermotard 796.

The young and beautiful rider shared more about her biking experiences and her advice for novice riders with us.

What got you interested in dirt biking?

Since I was young, I liked watching Motocross races. I grew up loving the outdoors and always sought adventure, hence, I decided to try dirt biking when my friends introduced it to me. I fell into mud pools, fractured some bones, but loved the sport!

What was the most exciting experience you’ve had during your solo rides?

When I arrived at the Chinese border with nothing but my motorcycle and a rugged bag. I couldn’t believe I made it all the way there from my home. That feeling of excitement intensified when I arrived in the Himalayan region and saw Mount Everest standing before my eyes. It was unbelievable.
